This innovative bread is the result of a collaboration with a Sardinian company that developed and patented an exclusive process to extract seawater from the Gulf of Cagliari, a renowned area known for its pure, high-quality waters, free from harmful substances.

Once extracted, the seawater undergoes a process of ultrafiltration and cold sterilization, allowing its saline composition to remain intact. Thanks to this method, the bread retains an authentic and rich flavor while significantly reducing sodium content. Seawater contains only 86% sodium chloride, compared to common table salt, which contains 99%. This makes products made with seawater healthier, lowering the intake of sodium, a key contributor to high blood pressure.

Even the World Health Organization (WHO) recommends reducing sodium intake in the daily diet, and our Marasau is perfectly aligned with this goal. By combining two essential elements, Earth and Sea, we’ve created Pane Carasau that blends tradition with innovation. Marasau is full of flavor but low in sodium, offering a unique taste experience.

No additional salt is added to our dough, as the saltiness comes directly from the seawater used in the recipe.
