Taralli are born in special places, where tradition and quality take center stage. The homes of Pugliese housewives and small neighborhood bakeries are the heart of this ancient craft. For over thirty years, the dawn has brought with it the aroma of water and flour, while warm ovens welcome time-honored recipes. It is here that the art of kneading and baking has reached perfection, until each tarallo becomes an authentic tribute to wheat. Today, dedication to tradition continues. Taralli are still made by hand, with the same care as always. Only a few hundred kilos are produced each day, using exclusively selected Italian ingredients. A deliberate choice, free of any industrial compromises, has brought these taralli to both small and large gourmet food destinations. Because the fruits of wheat, grown with love and care, deserve to be showcased where quality reigns supreme. Taralli are a traditional snack from Southern Italy, particularly from the Puglia region. They are small, ring-shaped, and can be either sweet or savory. Typically, savory versions are seasoned with ingredients like fennel seeds, black pepper, or chili, while sweet versions may be glazed with sugar or flavored with anise. They are often compared to breadsticks or pretzels due to their crunchy texture. Taralli are usually boiled before being baked, giving them their distinctive crunch, and they are commonly enjoyed with wine or as an appetizer.
